Before calling for help, a few safe checks can rule out simple causes: are the thermostat mode and temperature set correctly? Are the filters clean? Is the circuit breaker on, and is the remote control working? Is the outdoor unit free of leaves and obstructions? If the problem persists after these checks, do not keep experimenting — in particular, never open the refrigerant circuit yourself: that work is reserved for qualified technicians.
